Description
At first, I wanted to create a dancer whose arms and legs were replaced with wire. The sketch was inspired by the Sugar Plum Fairy from The Nutcracker, a character often linked with candy and sweets. Because of this, the sketch used bright candy colors. Later, I realized that the vivid colors weakened the depth of the theme. Ballet is not only about dreams and sweetness, but also about self-discipline and struggle. So I changed the design to focus on gray tones. Some of the dancer’s limbs are made of thin wires, symbolizing both restraint and fragility, but also support and resilience. She is no longer just a fairy from a tale, but represents every dancer who falls and rises again in the studio—fragile, yet made stronger by their dreams.
